Will you upgrade to new release 1.6 right now ?
Once again, I found a big problem with tally’s latest release 1.6 build 258.
The problem is related to additional input duty
When you try to modify or want to re accept an old purchase voucher entry in its new release, the amount of additional input vat duty ledger will disappear. The field will become blank.
If you are use a voucher class entry then in this case the input additional vat duty will capture additional vat based on the item rate
Suppose the item rate is 10000 and there is 8.24% excise duty and 4% input vat so now the input additional vat duty@ 1% should be Rs. 108 however now, it will capture the amount of Rs. 100 as input additional vat duty 1%
This mean if we have to use this new release then again we have to re enter(remember it will not allow you modification just simply) all purchase vouchers manually or we should not try to modify any purchase vouchers.
Previously I have a big hazardous experience in this regard and I had re entered about 500-700 entries relating to vat, excise and tds so, I have decided not to upgrade any new release of tally immediately until their release process become stable
I firmly believe that migration from old version to new version should be done in a very smooth way and it should not affect any past entry even if you modify or re accept the same voucher.
UPDATE OF THE POST AS ON 11 FEBRUARY 2010
Finally I have found out the cause the bug. If you instally the tally.erp 9 release 1.6 within the same folder then you will get the above error. So, it is advisable to install the tally.erp 9 release 1.6 to a new folder.
I am thankful very much to Mr. Jayesh Parikh of Tally CA yahoo group and tally support center to sort the above problem.
